Day 1 in Washington D.C.
We (me, Mr. O, Mrs. S, Mr. S, Mrs. L, Mrs. D) arrived in town about 5:30pm and checked into our hotel which is super close to everything. It's located in Chinatown. We ate at a new restaurant called Vapiano's. It was really fun. This is how their website describes themselves. "Vapiano is a fast casual restaurant with a twist - customers use a "chip card" to personally order their food or drinks from the bar or from the individual fresh pizza, pasta or salad stations." (Ask Mr O how many plates he used?) After we ate, we went walking. We saw the outsides of so many neat places like National Portrait Gallery, National Archives, The Mall (it's not what you think), Washington Monument, the Capital and so many other buildings. The energy of this place is hard to describe. It's really strange, though, to see the homeless people sleeping on benches and in corners of buildings or under the steps of buildings. But it felt fairly safe to be walking around even after dark. I know all of ya'll of being great for Mrs. D. One thing I wanted to tell you is that for each one of you who leave a positive comment on my blog, I will add 5 points to your Friday's test score. For Math Finance, I will add it to your next test. Don't forget that Geometry presentations start on Tuesday of next week. I expect great things. I have been watching for who is saving to Google docs and looking over your presentations. If you need me to add your question, let me know when you add your comment to the blog. I look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs. Wirtz,
ReplyDeleteokay, I know you told me to do the worksheets before everyone else, but I forgot how to do 61-90. on some of them, the way you told me works, but on most of the others, it doesn't. For example, 62. I don't know how to do it. Please help me figure this out. Thank you,
B.D. (7th hour) You are a very great teacher!!

Heyy Mrs. Wirtz!!
ReplyDeleteWe all miss you bunches!!
I'm so glad you gave us worksheets instead of book stuff. We really dislike that. Well I don't at least. And the other K.C. agrees. Your blog helped and we tried to put our own practice problem on our presentation. It doesn't look completely terrible! Haha. Hope you're having fun!

ReplyDeleteCatie Ann,
Hey Shelly,
ReplyDeleteHope D.C. is as fun as I remember. I love that place.
The kids have been great. Most have worked on their worksheet steadily. Some are struggling with the formula's and some of the calculators are in the wrong mode and I don't know how to change them. I've tried to help but my Trig experience was at least 25 years ago. But I had forgotten how much I love making those formulas work. Most of Plane Geo is ready for the test but Combined Geo is struggling and I'm not sure they are ready. We are only getting part of the papers graded (ie thru #45 in 1st hr.)
I have enjoyed the Dave Ramsey videos. Kids have been attentive for the most part.
Hope your trip back is a good one. Call me if you have questions. Kld
The dave ramsey video we are watching is very educational. both 2nd and 6th are behaving, we hope you are having a good time....
